Edinburgh
I often visit Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital, for meetings of the Society of Scottish Artists. Whenever I am there I take Polaroids as I explore and work over them back in my studio on my return to Glasgow.
As with all the cities I work with I tend to avoid the iconic buildings on the postcards – you’ll see no castle here, for example – but you may still recognise some familiar New Town landmarks if you know the city well. I mixed a sophisticated ‘bookish’ blue for the skies of this beautiful northern city.
